I went to a vegetarian restaurant (sorry, i forgot the name of the restaurant..) for lunch. I go vegetarian restaurant to have my meal quite often, though i'm not a vegetarian. And i saw this when i was paying my economic mixed rice. The cashier (cum 'si tao po', i believed) told me this skin was 'chu cheong fun' filling with mixed vegetables, which wasn't Spring Rolls, as the skin was 'chu cheong fun' and it wasn't as thin as 'popiah' skin. Funniest part was, she told me she didn't know the name of this dish. Fine, but it looked tasty, maybe of the sesame, hahaha... So i told her i wanna 'ta pau' them after my lunch.
After my lunch, i got back to the cashier, told her i wanna 'ta pau' 'Spring Rolls' wrapped with 'chu cheong fun'. You know what she told me?
She said: 'We already kept it, the skin (which is 'chu cheong fun') will be a little dry so i'm not gonna sell it liao.'
WHAT??!!... I want the food but i can't have it, and i was so disappointed... Probably she saw my face and she told me, 'If you really wanna have it i can 'ta pau' for you, but it's FREE, coz i'm not gonna sell it, and i have to tell you that the skin will be a little dry, not nice already'.
WHAT AGAIN??!!... I don't wanna get free food from them coz i know they're doing business. But the cashier insisted. So finally i had them.
'Chu cheong fun' really little dry but still tasted nice, the fillings were carrot, cabbage, turnip and etc, plus the seasonings... What a great dish, if the 'chu cheong fun' was soft then will be PERFECT! (I didn't take with the sauce coz i had ulcer on my tongue, too bad..)
